Perhaps it’s just me and the bit of pressure of being under a deadline but I’m trying to use Engaging’s Tied Entries (http://engaging.net/docs/tied-entries/)with Play and I find the documentation and example a bit perplexing.
I’m using Playa for a music site. My structure (for the sake of this discussion) is:
Album — album_artists ->> Artists
Album— album_artwork-> Images
That is, an Album has many Artists. The Playa field for the relationship is album_artists. And also, an Album has an Images. Playa field from Album to Images is album_artwork.
To be clear: All images are kept in an Images channel and Playa’ed to as required.
So…I’m in the Artists channel. With Playa I parent up to get the albums for that artist. That’s fine 😊 However, while I’m there at the parent (i.e., Album) I want to traverse (?) over to the Images and also get the artwork for that album. This is where I’m stumped. The Engaging site’s docs are thin and there are no examples (that I could find) specific to Playa 4. At this point, I’m not even sure if I have the syntax right.
Now can I vent…
Dear developers, if an extra $5 or $10 added on to the price will result in better documentation then please follow that path. You’re not saving me $10 if it take me 2 hours to figure out how to use your tool.
Venting over, thank you.
Thanks in advance for you help.
