I just upgraded to EE 2.4 on my freelancer license, and I got this error.

    Error Number: 1146

    Table '**databasename**.exp_file_watermarks' doesn't exist

    ALTER TABLE `exp_file_watermarks` CHANGE
`wm_x_offset` `wm_hor_offset` int

    Filename: updates/ud_240.php

    Line Number: 83
"}

    the database did connect, and the site is up and running, but I am unable to log into the admin area, even if I request a new password.

    I am upgrading from 2.1 too ... I keep on getting the same error whenever I try to upgrade. I tried to add the exp_file_watermarks to the database via phpmyadmin, but I dont know the details of the field so I can’t do it. Any advice would be helpful, please

    Hello jsks16,

    I am sorry to hear you are running into this update snag.

    It sounds like your update did not complete correctly.

    Just curious, what do you have in your /system/expressionengine/config/config.php file for $config[‘app_version’] = ‘XXX’;

    I recommend rolling back and using your backups to run the update again. Please follow these directions and be sure to pay special attention to the section titled “Retrying After a Failed Upgrade”.

    Again, I am sorry that you are having to take time to deal with this. I hope my instructions get you back on track soon.

    Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

    Cheers,

    It was app version 2.1.3

    I did manage to get things working again. I tried almost everything I could think of and I ended up having to reinstall 2.1.3 into a new database, empty out the new database using phpmyadmin, import my backup database and run the upgrade again. Afterwords I managed to get it to work. Somewhere something must have got corrupted, but it seems to be working now. I am glad I backed up my database, that is for sure…

    Hello jsks16,

    Sorry that you had to go through all that drama! No fun. I am very glad you backed up your database as well.

    If you have any more issues with this install, or any install for that matter, let me know. You know where to find me. 😊

    Cheers,
