Has anyone ever used SafeCracker as a means to entering products into Simple Commerce.
This is the idea / context…
- Customer submit files for a “free quote” (which would create a product row).
- Vendor (read: client) evaluates files and emails customer with quote. Email also includes a link to place an order.
- Order link would be a link to the “product”, which would be the row of the submit for a free quote with some additional details (e.g., price / quote) entered by the Vendor.
- Customer adds to cart, enters other relevant details (e.g. ship to address) and checks out via PayPal.
- Order complete.
- Vendor exports order(s) to QuickBooks.
Or perhaps someone else has a better idea?
btw, I considered Freeform but that writes to its own Channel with it’s on CP screens. And then there would still be a commerce step as well.
I know Simple Commerce is intentionally pretty simple (duh?) but that’s fine. The goal is to fulfill the need defined above.
Thanks in advance -
