I am trying to replace some images via the File Manager.  I have tried several approaches, but can’t seem to get several of the old photos replaced.  I have tried deleting them via FM and reloading them via FM, and also tried via FTP.  I have done the synchronization.  I have logged off and logged back in between attempts.  Nothing seems to work.  Some times the process works (2 of 5 photos have been replaced, but 3 others are still the old versions).

    HELP!

    Hello nroptions,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem. This sounds very frustrating.

What version are you currently on?

I know you have probably already checked this, but I want to make sure. The permissions on the directors are at correct? And the files in the directory, are those set correctly as well? The directory you will wide open and the files to be rw for all groups. (666)

The inconsistent nature of this issue makes me think permissions may be at fault.

Let me know what you find and we will go from there.

    Cheers,

Well, this morning when I reloaded the files all went well.  I did nothing regarding permissions between yesterday and today.

I’m not sure I was clear in my original statement of the problem. The bizarre behavior is that even though I deleted a particular file (photo), when I try to replace it with a new version, the old photo appears in the File Manager listing.  It’s as if the old file is cached somewhere and refuses to go away!

For now, let’s consider the thread closed—recreating this behavior is almost impossible, since during the process some files were replaced and others not.  However, I will take your advice and review the permissions. If the problem recurs, I’ll try to gather additional information and open a new thread.

    Thanks for your help.
