I have multiple domains running on a single ee install, each a subdirectory on the same server.  The cookie domain is the one I use to login into the control panel ( Serko.net).  I have one domain (davidserko.com) that I want to secure sections with member login.  The cookie domain issue is causing problems in that users do not appeared to be logged in due to the cookies.  Will I run into problems if I reset the cookie domain for my entire installation to .davidserko.com?  Again, I don’t need any member control in any other domain other than CP login.

    Hi pserko,

Are you using Multiple Site Manager? If so you should be able to create a cookie for each specific site. changing the cookie domain should not interfere with the operation of your site, but just to be safe make a back up of your database first.

No, I am not using MSM.  So my question is still the same.  Can I change without problems with CP access?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello pserko,

That would not work, so please do not do it. 😊

This is quite possible and this wiki explains how to do it! Note that this is an MSM specific tutorial, but it should work for a non-MSM install. I am more than happy to help you get this working.

Read over the wiki article and let me know if this would work for you.

    Thanks pserko!

    Cheers,
