I’m having trouble with images. The files are uploading fine but the thumbs are displaying as no image, yet when I check with FTP if they are there, they indeed are.

Initially I had problems with uploading the files due to permissions on the upload folder. I eventually solved that.

I have ran the requirements check and everything is supported.

How can I resolve this problem?

    Hi anthonyweston,

Welcome to the forums. We’re glad to have you here. I’m sorry that you are experiencing this problem. When you have the broken image what do you see if you view source or if you use firebug? Do your images appear on the front end of the site?

When you are logged in to the CP are you on the www or non www version of your site? Does this match up with the “URL of Upload Directory” setting in your file upload preferences?

Hi Anthony, I had this problem initially as well, first check the permissions, then (in my case) I hadn’t added the URL of the upload directory correctly in File Preferences.

It needs to be the full path: ‘http://www.[your_site].com/[directory]/[directory]/ etc.

    That fixed it for me.

Forgot to add, to test, cut and paste the url you enter in File Preferences append the image name then paste into your browser.

    Hi, thanks for the replies.

I have fixed it too. I had stupidly missed the ‘s’ of the /images/ directory that the files were being uploaded to.

    Works great now. Thanks!
