Hmm… I’m sorry you’re experiencing this issue.
1. Is this a clean install of EE2? (you are not upgrading a previous version, correct?)
2. Are you able to access any files on your site? (maybe you could put a test file test.html on your server, and see if you can see that file) - start by ensuring you can access your files on your server, then start to troubleshoot the files you have uploaded.
If this is a clean install of EE, I would recommend starting very simply with a clean slate, and eliminating one possible fault at a time, and proceeding through the installation instructions very deliberately.
It will also help to document specific errors or issues as they come up.
(it’s also helpful to many people on the discussion forums to make the title of your thread as descriptive as possible… “help” is what we are all here for) 😊

Hi CircuitDoctor,
As Mark points out, we are here to help!
If you are starting with a fresh install of ExpressionEngine 2.4, you should be able to trigger the installation by visiting:
<a href="http://domain.tld/admin.php">http://domain.tld/admin.php</a>Be sure to substitute in your real web domain. If you try accessing admin.php, do you receive any errors?
As Mark mentions, be sure to follow the installation instructions very carefully. It is a good idea to read them over once or twice to make sure you understand each step. If you have any questions, please ask!
Cheers,

Hi CircuitDoctor,
Were you able to follow Robin’s instructions from your other thread?
It sounds to me like in between trying to upgrade from EE1 to EE2 things have gone a bit haywire. If this is an existing site then you need to be careful and make sure all the data is backed up. The previous error was referring to path.php which is a leftover from EE1. This gets me thinking that you’ve copied over EE2 files but this hasn’t been a successful upgrade. If you’re now trying to copy files over on top again it may just be making the situation worse.
My advice would be to start from the top, follow the instructions in the links provided and let us know exactly what you’re now trying to do. Is this a clean install or an upgrade, what process did you follow to get to where you are? We can then provide more specific support and not risk corrupting your existing site.

Hi CircuitDoctor,
Is this thread and the other noted by Slippy related to the same issue? If so, we will need to focus on one thread in order to provide you the best possible help.
Is the trouble you are experiencing here the result of an upgrade? If so, that changes the situation completely.
Please provide as much information as possible:
What version of ExpressionEngine did you start with before the upgrade process?
What trouble have you encountered along the way?
Do you have backups of your site files and database from *before* any upgrade was attempted?
Cheers,
