    Hi everybody,

we upgraded a nearly empty site (no templates - no channels – no channel fields) from 2.3.1 to 2.4.0, created the templates, uploaded the images (everything worked fine) and now wanted to fill in the content. Logically we also have file-type-channel fields BUT: there is no Add- or Delete-Button in the Entry-Editor ...

No matter which file-type or which directory is choosen: no buttons to edit the content of the field ...

Does anybody know a solution for this strange topic?

    Hello Marc,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem. This does not look fun.

I am unable to reproduce this.

Do you have channels created now? You mentioned that there were none before the upgrade and you mentioned creating templates but no mention of channels.

Can you send me a screen shot of your field types? In the Control Panel navigate to Admin->Field Types.

After you try these few things and let me know what you find, we can continue to get this resolved for you.

Hey, it’s almost Friday, so there’s that.

    Cheers,

    Hi Shane,

    glad about your feedback.

all 10 field-types are installed, channels, channel group preferences and assignments set, channel fields created, upload preferences set, images uploaded.

    Thanx in advance
    Marc

    WOPITEC,

It seems to me that you want to be able to add an image/file into a textarea field in the publish page, is this correct? If so you need to go into textarea field and edit it. At the bottom of the page the last option is “show file chooser” - be sure to have this set to “yes”.

Does this clear things up for you?

    Hi Sean,

    Sorry: NO – absolutely not.

    I didn’t want to add a file/image to a text field,
i want to add a file/image to an ENTRY.

This should be clear after looking at the screenshots ... i thought.

Thanx in advance for a solution dealing with the problem described above

    Hello WOPITEC,

Can you check a few more things for me?

Can you browse in your Control Panel to Add-Ons->Field Types and make sure that File is installed?

Are you using any other file fieldtypes?

Let me know how that looks.

    Cheers,
