Hey, I have a multilingual site (10 languages) and I already have a lot of channels! I have had different set ups for dealing with the languages (using status groups, categories etc) on different parts of the site, but in this case I need to use a separate channel for each language. In all it will be 18 new channels (2 channels translated in 9 new languages) and that will look like an awful long list. Is it possible to some how group channels in the Content - Publish view so that I can have 2 “channel groups” that when you select one of the groups it show a sub menu (with all the channels for that group) just as it shows the sub menue of all channels when you select content-publish? Or how do people handle channels when they get up to 30+ channels?

    Thanks,
    Johan

are you using any ad-one for multi-language support?
i think, you are using the structure mentioned here http://expressionengine.com/wiki/Multi_language_site.

if you follow this then the template tag {language_code} will output the language code for the selected language.

now no need to create multiple channels. you can use as many custom field for each language like you have created an custom field “description” and managing 2 languages. then create 2 custom fields for each language and name then like description_en, description_fr.

and output in template like {description_{language_code}}.

    hope this may help you.
