After 2.3 > 2.4 update, the cp seems to have slowed down quite a bit. I know this is the opposite of what’s supposed to be happening with the update…

For example, on Output and Debugging Preferences page, it loads visually complete in less than 1 sec., but keeps loading for 3+ seconds until completely finished. During the extra loading time buttons like Admin and Tools are visible but don’t work (no drop down), so possibly a js issue?

Checking output shows benchmarks all under 0.05 - so it doesn’t seem like a db issue.

I disabled nsm updater but that hasn’t made a difference. Wondering if anyone else has seen this or has a suggestion?

It looks like the problem is limited to Firefox osx, Safari/Chrome/Opera (all latest versions) work fast without issue. I tried FF without add-ons and didn’t help, so not really sure what the issue might be.

I’m sorry you are having an undesirable experience in the Control Panel using Firefox. Can you tell us what version of FF you are seeing the problem with? If there are JS problems, that will help us track them down.

It was 9.01 but now 10.0 hasn’t changed it. They’re pushing out versions faster than I can type….

Have you tried logging in to your CP using FF on a different computer? Do you still experience the slowness?

I’ve been having the same problem, the CP (2.4 build date 20120123) has been taking forever to load, in fact it never loads fully using Firefox (currently 10.0.2). I didn’t think to change browsers until I read this post and what do you know, it’s quicker in Safari and Opera. Not lightning fast but a definite improvement. Thanks for that travisb, I was tearing out what hair i have left 😊
