This question may be related to a resolved thread.

Hi, can I check its okay to install EE again (BUT locally/MAMP) to follow a tutorial in order to learn more about EE. Have created a live site with full license of EE and happy with the functionality but want to progress now without mucking up the live site using the example site from the tutorial.

    Thanks

    w3studio,

Thank you for posting on the forums.

What you are asking to do is allowable. Our license guide states “An ExpressionEngine license purchase allows a single “live” installation in a production environment and ancillary “development use only” installations as needed to support the live installation (such as development and a staging servers).”

As long as this second site continues to be a development use only site to help you better understand and administrate your live site, you are operating within the boundaries of the license.

    Thank you for using ExpressionEngine.

    Cheers!
