    Hello,
I’ve just upgraded my system from 2.1.4 to 2.4.0

My images are showing up on the front-end but the File Manager is showing up blank in the cpanel and all the image/file fields are showing up with broken thumbnail icons.

I’ve tried to sync directories. I don’t get any errors but it doesn’t seem to work either. I’ve checked permissions on the image directories are 777.

    Help please!

After “synchronizing” it shows a count of the number of files, which is 1 less than there are in the folder (I’m not counting the _thumbs directory).  So it can see they are there (almost!), but can’t list them.

I’ve found the problem - I hadn’t actually synchronized the files! I blame trying to do an update after a long day, but it has to be done evening when it is off peak for taking the site offline.

I was clicking the Synchronize icon on the “File Manager > File Upload Preferences” page and once I got to the next page “File Manager > File Upload Preferences > Channel name” with the ‘Synchronize Directory’ heading I completely missed the Submit button. I’ve synchronized plenty of times before and I just expected this to be the confirmation screen. I’m not entirely sure why that intermediary screen exists - confused me!

    Hi Emily,

We have all been there. It’s the theme song for Web Developers, late night upgrades after a long day.

I am glad you got it squared away.

    Cheers!
