The last 2 days, I have slowed down with development because I’m coming across many different ways to do things in EE and hard for me to determine what is the best way I should do something.  For the people that have been helping me out I’m having most of my problems with understanding how templates and pages work.  as an example, to display a blog post I could either

    site.com/blog/entry/blog-post (site.com/template_group/entry_template/channel

    or

    site.com/blog/blog-post (site.com/template_group-index-template/url-segment+condition

I’m trying to use bread crumbs and also list the child pages but thats also a little confusing because I never used the Pages Module.

And the questions I have about Structure:

    1. If I try to go any further with this, do I have to recreate the pages with structure?
    2. Is development much easier and quicker with Structure? Easier to manage?

Sorry for all of the threads, just a bit overwhelmed with understanding pages and anything related to pages at the moment

If it is a tree-based site, where organizing information that way makes sense, then Structure is really nice. Beyond the nice drag/drop interface, it will automatically set up breadcrumbs, site maps, navigation, clean URLs. There are obviously some caveats and issues, but things can usually be cleaned up by using the Freebie add-on in addition to Structure to get the best of both worlds.
