    Hi Guys,

    Just wondering if you can help with this:

    I have a ‘Text Input’ field for ‘telephone number’ named {telephone_number}

    The ‘Default Text Formatting for This Field’ is set to ‘None’.

    Yet when I preview the rendered template, it is placing
    tags around the output for {telephone_number}.

    I’ve tried switching between ‘all’ and ‘number’ on the ‘Field Content’ option, and
    also switching the field type to ‘text area’ to see if it has any effect. But no luck!

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks in advance! 😊

    Regards

    Karl

    In your template have you put tags around the {telephone_number}?

    For example in your template you may have {telephone_number}, or even one opening tag in front, such as {telephone_number}

    Hi Zizther,

    There are no tags either side of {telephone_number} in the template.

    I have actually fixed the issue (which I believe to be a slight bug in the SQL Database).

    I physically deleted the custom field {telephone_number} and made a new one with the same settings etc.
    Then re-entered the telephone number in the published entry, and it now works correctly 😊.

    Still not sure why it happened in the first place, but like I say it must be a SQL data glitch etc.

    Many thanks for the response to the post! 😊

    Hi karlosb,

    I’m happy to see you were able to find a workaround, I’m sorry you had to go to such lengths.

    What version of ExpressionEngine did this happen with? If I can replicate the issue, I’ll file a bug report.

    Cheers!
