    Good evening

After sorting out my initial problem when moving from development server to live server (http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/208571/) I am now having a further issue with File Upload.

When I go to upload anything, could be a product listed in file manager, could be an avatar or member photo, once I click Upload, the Upload window just goes back to the Home Page. The image has not uploaded. There are no errors.

I have checked, and double checked permissions on the relevant folders etc. They are all 777.

    EE v2.3.1

    Many thanks

Looks like this is still a problem originating from the initial move…as I cannot edit any of the product details - it just goes back to the home page when I click update….

    JHWalter,

I am sorry to hear you are having an issue with file uploads.

I would like you to double check that the file path is correct. To check that navigate in the Control Panel to Content > Files > File Upload Preferences and edit the destination you are using by clicking on the pencil. Once there please verify that “Server Path to Upload Directory” and “URL of Upload Directory” are correct.

When you say that the upload window goes back to the homepage do you mean the modal popup or does your whole browser page go to the front end of the site?

One final question are you able to upload files to the uploads directory via ftp?

    Hi Sean

It all seems to be sorted now - I took the issue up with my host and there were several issues their end…which they have now rectified

    Thanks

    JHWalter,

Glad to see you got that all working now. I’m going to close out this thread, but feel free to post again when you have more questions.
