    Hi EE experts,

this is probably a very simple and redundant question - but I want to make sure.

Does the multiple site manager enable us to work on a 2nd website, without affecting our other website in any way.

Our new HQ website is taking longer to develop and we want to setup a simple brochure website for a regional office in the interim, however I want to make sure that the development on the main HQ site is not affected in any way?

Is there any crossover or interference between running 2 sites? Or can we work on the 2nd site as though it is a completely separate and independent site?

    Thanks,

    Ben

    ...and No.

MSM is contained in one EE install.  If you need to update EE you’ll need to take both sites offline.

Another question - how long should it realistically take a developer to install the multi site manager and duplicate a few templates.

    Arbinger,

Installing MSM and duplicating templates shouldn’t take too long, but the speed will depend on each developer and how familiar they are with MSM.

Ben and Mike, thanks for your help.
