Hi all,
I’m developing with EE for the first time so have a lot of questions 😖, hope this is the right forum to post.
Working on a website with extensive use of user profiles and custom fields. I need users to:
- register
- login
- edit data
- input custom fields
- upload photos
- upload video to youtube (or similar) via API ?
All of this should be accessible out of EE control panel.
Can you give me some hints which modules/addons provide the functionality I’m looking for?

Hi dabcat welcome to the forums!
If you want to have a lot of flexibility with profiles and custom data I usually go for the Solspace User module for general profile stuff + the Safecracker module for front end editing of entries. There is Zoo visitor as well but have never used it.
If your sites members will be adding a lot of data it’s well worth setting up some Channels to hold data, you can then display any data based on the author (or who submitted the data). For instance if each user has a photo gallery you can use one Channel to store everyones photos, then you can display all photos or just ones by one member.
