    Hi,

We’ve got the EE Forum module installed and the client has requested we change the casing of the word InBox. I thought this request sounded fair enough but it seems this must be hard coded somewhere in the EE2 core. Any hints where I can find this?

    Thanks. Sam

    Hi Sam,

The only two instances I can find in ExpressionEngine of InBox (case sensitive) are :

    Private Message InBox Full Notification

    and

This template defines the message that a user receives when they are not able to receive Private Messages due to a full InBox

Are either of these what you are referring to here?

If so then they are both found in the :

    system > expressionengine > language > english > speciality_tmp_lang.php

    language file.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Thanks Mark, that does tick off 2 of them.

I was really however hoping that I could change the name that appears within the Private Folders list on the left hand side of the user settings. I can see in the DB that this is automatically being created as InBox for each user that signs up. I’ve used a SQL query to change this for existing members, but every time a new member signs up, they go back to the old format.

That’s because “InBox” is set as the default in the database for that field. In order to change it for all future members, you’ll need to alter the default value of the field “folder1_name” in the exp_message_folders table.

Does that help clear it up?

Yeah, that was a little obvious… sorry - should I have thought of that myself. Thanks for your help Kevin.
