We are coming from an old system and the client wants to temporarily preserve the old URL’s until after a marketing push. So can I literally have something like this?:

Probably not since EE uses PHP and not Coldfusion.
The only suggestion I have is to redirect old>new so /trips/tripdetail.cfm?TripID=33 becomes something like /trips/tripdetail/33
