    Hi ianryde,

    Make sure you have your latest backups in hand, be prepared to roll back to a pre-update state.

    Now that you have a backup, go through the version update process. If the process hangs at the same place, leave it open in the browser.

    Take the config file contents you have pasted above and copy them over the “empty” config.php and save that file.

    Go back to the browser and refresh the stalled installer. Does the update complete?

    I look forward to your reply!

    Cheers,

    Hi there Dan,

    Sorry for the delay in responding.

    I tried the above, and replacing the config file with the “empty” one at point of stall, but when i refresh the browser, it comes up with the same DB error, trying to update the db with tables that have already been created, it seems.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    Ian

    Hi Ian,

    It appears when you rolled back your database, did you completely wipe the database after the failed upgrade? Please see the docs onretrying after a failed up grade.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your reply. I have read through the documentation, the problem is now, that to revert to the backup would wipe so much data from customers, it’s not really feasable.

    Its really odd how it thinks its the public beta version. Could someone possibly take a look?

    I know Dan Decker fixed this same issue for someone himself. Is it possible to do the same thing.

    Thanks,
    Ian

    Hi Ian,

    I’m going to escalate this up the ladder. Someone will be contacting you about this shortly. Thank you for your patience with this.

    Just posting a note here to let onlookers know that we’re working with Ian privately on this for the time being. I’ll post an update back here once we have something to share!

    Hi Studio Meta,

    This turned out to be a remnant ExpressionEngine 1 style config variable:

    $conf[''] = '';

    Where ExpressionEngine 2 uses:

    $config[''] = '';

    Look through your /system/expressionengine/config/config.php file for any instances that use $conf

    Cheers,
