Hey guys,
My client is asking me to create a section for uploaded videos/music, what video and or music players do you suggest (pay or free doesn’t matter)? Any specific players work well with Expression Engine? I am just asking the community before I make any rash decisions. Any suggestions/tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!

JW Player is a decent option that’ll work. It’s flash based with automatic HTML5 fallback and plenty of configuration options. It supports local files in the right formats, as well as YouTube, Vimeo, Meta Cafe, Revver and others.

I’ve had good luck with VideoJS http://videojs.com/ and jPlayer http://jplayer.org/. Honestly, any of these popular jQuery-based players will work correctly as long as you have ExpressionEngine provide the right parameters. Something to think about though is how they will upload the video. Generally, PHP has a file upload limit that might prevent them from uploading the videos via the control panel without the use of a tool like Simple S3 Uploader (http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/simple-s3-uploader) to upload to Amazon’s S3, or uploading via FTP and typing in the filename.
