    Hi

I doubt there’s a simple way of converting a WordPress or Joomla template for use with EE, since the systems are quite different.

What I think you’ll need to do, is strip out all WordPress/Joomla code, and keep only the HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc, and start with a “clean” template.
You really don’t need to know anything about PHP to use EE, but of course you will need to learn hos to use EE tags to render content and how to set it up backend.

Why not start with installing the default record company-theme, and then following the excellent documentation provided at expressionengine.com/docs. I would start at “The Big Picture” at http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/getting_started/the_big_picture.html after installing your test site.

    Good luck!
