I still have an old install of EE 1.x.

I need to put small galleries within specific posts like you see in gadget reviews showing images of the product. I have been perusing the forums and Devotee but there does not seem to be a firm solution. Someone created a beta plugin once but that seems to have disappeared. What is the easiest way to accomplish this? I don’t think the native EE gallery module would be a good fit.

Here’s one approach:

The rendered page, all content from one EE1 entry.  I can also add a tab and have a single or multiple videos.

I’ve posted the template code on Train-ee.

Note that this does require a commercial add-on - Matrix from Pixel & Tonic.
