    Hi,

    I make step by step by your User Guide, but cant open site2.

    Original site: dieloplus.sk
    MSM second: diloplus.cz

    I try to edit system paths .. by your guide, but it display: Your system folder path does not appear to be set correctly. Please open the following file and correct this: index.php

    My setup:

    $system_path = '../dieloplus.sk/system';
    $assign_to_config['site_name']  = 'diloplus';
    $assign_to_config['cp_url'] = 'http://www.diloplus.cz/admin.php';

    In the first domain i look at php_info, open_basedir has: no value.
    I dont know if its good or bad.

    Please help, thx you.

    Now I realized that there is more issues.

    Before I try to create MSM site I have to update EE.
    I was update from EE.2.1.18 to EE 2.3.1

    In CP the layout when i want to add post was messed. After reset it’s Ok.

    But bigger problem is that in the File Manager i have no files. Before update there was hundreds.

    And second, it seems like page is “static” like it not recognize JavaScript. Fancybox not working, script for testimonial, rotate script, nothing ...

    And I don’t know why, i searched, trying but nothing works.

    macoD,

    Sorry about your frustrations, but it looks like you’ve made good progress so far. It looks to me like the final issue is your files not showing up in the file manager. I would like you to go to Content > Files > File Upload Preferences and then on that page on the right hand side click the “Syncronize” icon for your upload directory. Once you’ve done that, get back to me with the results.

    Oh, thx. you for advice, it’s working. I don’t know that it should be done.

    But still my biggest issue is to MSM get working. If I something set wrong or is problem in my hosting provider. I contact them too, but with no answer which can help me from them yet.

    Hi macoD,

    In your index.php instead of using a relative path to the system folder could you use a full path which would look something like this:

    $system_path = ‘/var/www/username/httpdocs/system/’

    Let me know if that works for you.

    Yes I try that. I look at the first source site in the PHP info and it give me this:

    '/www/d/i/u15941/public_html/system/'

    I use it, but it not working too.

    Hi macoD,

    Just to confirm, you are currently on ExpressionEngine 2.3.1, correct? If that is the case I’d like you to download a fresh copy from your download account and then replace the index.php on your second site with the new copy after putting in the correct system path.

    Hi macoD,

    Could you share with me the folder structure you’re using? What’s the full server path to your main site’s web root, your system directory, and your second site’s web root?

    DOCUMENT_ROOT: /www/d/i/u15941/public_html
    System directory: /www/d/i/u15941/public_html/system/
    second site’s web root: /www/d/i/u40293/public_html

    Recently from the hosting company I receive that probably they can’t manage the folder structure like is in the User Guide describe. So probably i have to change hosting company?

    macoD,

    Can you check if your server has any open_basedir restrictions set?

    Hi macoD,

    I’d like to make sure we have one more thing in place. If not, then please be on the lookout for an email from me so that I can take a first-hand look at this.

    Please make sure that the index.php file in the web root of your second site is a copy of the same file in the web root of your main site. Then make sure that the $system_path value in the index.php file of the second site is using the absolute path to the system folder for the installation, typically located in the web root of the main site.

    Like I said, if checking that info doesn’t work, please be on the lookout for an email from me.
