This question may be related to a resolved thread.

I know that a bug report has been filed for this ( https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/16868 ), but the temporary fix does not seem to be resolving the issue for me.

I’ve got several images in the directory and the permissions are set to 777. I’m seeing the error when trying to publish a new entry in the Control Panel.

    Hi Neil,

what version and build of EE are you using?
Are you using any other add-ons?

For the benefit of this thread can you repost the error here?
Is it a browser error or an error appearing in your modal window?

Is this a local site or a live site?

Is this a fresh install or an upgrade from a previous version or build?

    Hey John,

I’m using v2.3.1 - Build: date 20111017. It was a fresh install and the error is appearing in the browser window (just a white page with the black text error that reads):

Fatal error: Call to a member function result() on a non-object in [...]/expressionengine/third_party/safecracker_file/ft.safecracker_file.php on line 669

It is a live site and the error only appears when the SafeCracker file field has ‘Show Existing Files’ checked. Obviously I can disable it to make it work, but we’re pushing this site live to the client next week, but we will have to delay until this bug can be fixed.

Other addons being used: Structure, Matrix, NSM Better Meta, MX Google Maps and MX Notify Control.

    Hi Neil,

I did a quick fix on the bug- and posted how to do it to the tracker: https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/16868.

Fix should be in the next release and the manual fix should take care of it for the short term.  That work for you?
