Hello,

I am unable to login to my control panel. I don’t receive any error other than a time out. My website is running normally and there are no errors on it. I am able to access my database without any errors and ftp is also working normally. The version is 2.1.0 and I am running this on a lamp server.

It appears only when a member is part of the super admin group. Once I change this from outside the super admin group I can login without any issues.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

Did this happen out of the blue or did you do something you suspect might trigger it? Is your admin excluded from all your URL rewriting?

Other logins works, it appears to happen out of the blue. I can login with other groups but anytime I change the group to super admin I get a 404 error. The admin is excluded from url rewriting.

Is this consistent across different browsers?

yes it appears on multiple browsers

We would recommend upgrading to latest version, EE2.3.1
Do you have any add-ons running?

What’s in your htaccess presently?

I did try clearing the cache and did not have any luck. I will try an upgrade and let you know how that goes.

I noticed in my error log I am getting this when attempting to login as a super admin…

Timeout waiting for output from CGI script “real server path here”/cgi-php/phpwrapper, referer: “real web address here”/core/index.php?S=0&D=cp&C=login&M=login_form

Any ideas where this is coming from?

Finally figured it out. It was the NSM Add-on Updater, that was causing it to be “glacially” slow. I saw this thread http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/172186/ and disabled it. Works perfect now.
