Where do you change the URL for the site button that’s at the upper right in the Control Panel. Thought it would be under General Configuration, but no luck there. When I change the “Name of your site” value on the General Configurations page, the new name shows on the CP button at top right, but when I edit the “URL to the root directory of your site” it doesn’t change the link from that button. I’ve cleared all caches, tried viewing in different browsers, etc. What am I missing? Thanks!

Do you have any of the domain values set in your config/admin PHP files?

You should be able to change this by goig to admin > general configuration and changing “URL to the root directory of your site”. What happens when you change that setting? does the link stay the same or is it broken? When the page reloads has your change been saved to the settings? Finally what version and build of EE are you using?

Michael. That was it! Still had old value for $config[‘base_url’] in the config.php file. Thanks so much.

Sean, that’s exactly what I thought should happen, too, as mentioned in my original question. When the page is refreshed, the change has been saved in the field, but does not change in the actual link for the site button. I’m on v2.2.2 - Build: date 20110801. When you makes config changes from within the CP, shouldn’t it update the config.php file?

Actually the config.php file overrides the CP values. Is there anything else I can help you with?
