    Greetings,

How can I get EE to create images that I can use based on the size of the screen?

I have my design completed and the last thing that I need to do is get the images working correctly.

The best way for this to happen would be for EE to create 3 alternate images. Assuming it will already have the full sized image I would need images that work with:

-767 pixel width (Tablet portrait view)
    -480 width (Mobile landscape view)
    -360 width (Mobile portrait view)

I’m experiencing the problems mentioned here: http://filamentgroup.com/lab/responsive_images_experimenting_with_context_aware_image_sizing/ and I’m trying to come up with a solution in EE.  Someone else had a good idea here (in the comments of the above post) http://filamentgroup.com/lab/responsive_images_experimenting_with_context_aware_image_sizing/#commentNumber11 if we could get EE to create the different sized images (for the aforementioned screen sizes) with a standard naming convention like this:

    360_image.jpg
    480_image.jpg, etc

    the issue would be overcome.

    Thank you for your patience!

    Respectfully,
    EJ Lear

With Channel Images from DevDemon you can predefine image sizes and advanced options to presize images you upload. Alternatively, CE images names are standard once created and could be generated on the fly to spec based on your display criteria. Both can be found on Devotee.
