Has anyone ever run into an issue in which they couldn’t see categories? I am using the {exp:child_categories} plugin to filter nested categories. I can build the nested categories in the category management console and see them just fine. But when I go to the entry and try to select the category that is nested 3 deep, it isn’t displayed so I can choose it. I checked the DB, and they are in the database with the correct relational information (parent/group/etc.).

For instance, I have the following nested categories: (Left is the parent of the right)
Appraiser—> Recorded Webinars and Videos—> Mobile Tools—> TOTAL for iPad

I can see all of that in the category management and database, but I can’t see or select ‘TOTAL for iPad’ in the entry itself. Does EE limit the usage of categories to ‘X’? And if so, why do they allow you to produce more than is usable?

    This is on EE 1.6.8.

    Thanks for your help,

Hi, Brian. You’re using a third party add-on which we can’t provide direct support for.

If you use EE’s native functionality, are you still running into issues?

    Sue,

Thanks. I figured out it was the Solspace Primary Category extension causing the issue. I opened a support ticket with them and am waiting for a response now.

Ticket can close unless you want me to provide their response here for others.

Go ahead and post when you get a resolution so we have a complete account.

Then I can close the thread. 😊

    Sue,

Posting the results. Nicolas and Kelsey at Solspace promptly resolved this. When I took this site over, I was not left with all the account credentials. I was running v1.6.1 of the extension. Kelsey mentioned that they fixed this issue in a later release and provided me with an update. All is well in the world now.

    😊
