    Hi,
Just want to make sure this is not a bug…

but when I goto crop an image that I just uploaded it’s not “cropping” it but resizing the image to the width/height that i make my crop box.

The way I would expect this to work is it would “crop out” everything that is not in my selection box - just like “crop” in photoshop/gimp/paint.

The main reason I need this is for news posts my clients are uploading news logos and for visual consistency we need to crop out all the white space and be left with just the logo. I’m pretty sure this is how EE worked up until my last update as i’ve used this feature before.

    Thanks!

    Hi rkingon,

    I can’t replicate this on EE2.3.1
What version and build of EE are you using?

    I’m currently on: ExpressionEngine (2.3.0)

We are launching website today, or I would upgrade to 2.3.1—But, I can’t be playing around until the DNS is in place!

I have attached some SS showing the process

I think im going to install a local EE to see if im getting the same results

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I used a quick php script to ensure my GD is functioning properly and crop worked as expected. I have GD support enabled on all image file types.

It didn’t start doing this until I updated/migrated to a differnet server. Could this be the reason? If so, what would it entail to fix?

    Update:

I found out actually EE is cropping the image just fine. If i navigate directly to the image on the server and view it in browser it’s displayed exactly how it needs to be. It just displaying the old version within the new width/height in the file manager. Almost like it’s caching it - but I of course tried clearing cache

    Sorry,

I’m retarded… This server has a CDN with a 3 day refresh on files that were edited.

    THanks for your help!

    rkingon,

Glad to hear you’ve got it working now. I’m going to close the thread now, but do feel free to post again as needed.
