I planned on using their Scribd Reader on my website, for the reading of uploaded documents and generate an automatic preview using their converting application that converts the documents into a flash preview.

Has anyone built an application using their API? It seems complicated to me, but then again I don’t have that much programming experience.

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks.

Not used the API but if I need to add Scribd to a site I provide a simple textarea so the client can paste in the embed code.

    Hi Dylan,

I am not exactly looking to just paste an embed code, I was looking for something such as when a member of our site has uploaded a document, a preview will be generated by sending the file to scribd and returning a flash preview that appears as a preview of the document on our website.

The php upload code for Scribd is pretty easy to implement.

    Hi Dylan,

Do you have any suggestions on where I should start? I would like to use SafeCracker and have a custom field where users can upload a file, and that custom field would need to interact with Scribd’s API.

    Thanks.

Haven’t integrated it w/ EE at all, just used it on its own, sorry.
