    Hi all,

I’m planning a site for an event organization where 100+ members can submit individual details to the directory. What would be the best way to achieve this? Would it be to set-up multiple member accounts and give access to the EE control panel, or should I use a stand-alone entry form which is password protected?

    Many thanks for your help.

It demands largely on the sophistication of your audience.  I generally keep the control panel for “insiders” and so on that front, I’d probably recommend a SAEF using Safecracker.  The CP can be overwhelming for some, and if they only need the ability to submit (not edit, etc) then an SAEF would likely keep your users out of trouble.

I have a similar scenario. What if the users need to edit existing channel entries? In my case, I’m presented with a list of 100 applicants (each applicant is an entry in channel ‘applicants’). I have the option both to rank and leave comments for each. Is SafeCracker the best choice? How would you approach that? Thanks in advance.
