    Hi there,

I have a client who wants a site that is a platform for a variety of legal documents.

They need the ability for users to register, and when logged in, manage their own collections of documents on the site using folders.

Is this something EE can do out-of-the-box, or if not are there any suitable add-ons to accomplish this?

    Regards

    Gary

    Hi madebysplendid,

When you say ‘manage’ their own collections do you mean to just view files meant for them or for them to be able to upload file too?

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Not to upload, no — just to organise files purchased on the site itself into folders.

    Hi, madebysplendid.

There’s no built in functionality to do this, particularly since member groups are really designed to be for groups of users, not one group per person with an associated file upload area.

However, since you mentioned files purchased on a site - did you have a cart in mind? I don’t typically do that sort of coding, so you might want to look around on Devot-ee.com.

In pMachine days I wrote code to create a folder and copy files over there.. but that was a lot of year ago. 😊

    Hi madebysplendid,

Just wanted to see if the information from Sue helps here at all?

    Thanks,

    Mark
