This question may be related to a resolved thread.

I’m having issues with getting the email configuration set up on our new Install of ExpressionEngine. We are running on a Windows 2008 server running IIS7, PHP 5.3.8, and MySQL 5.5.15.  I’ve tried the email_test.php and get the following error (Email Test Script, Error: Unable to send your email). I’ve tried PHP Mail email protocol and have had success sending a message to a gmail account but not my companies email. We’ve also tried SMTP but the email communication page in ExpressionEngine times out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

    Hi Phil,

As e-mails are sending to a gmail account but not your companies account the first thing to check would be that the e-mails aren’t perhaps filtering into any SPAM filters that your company has set up.

See if you have anything there perhaps and if not do let us know.

    Thanks,

    Mark

I’ve checked our SPAM filter and it isnt’ even making it there. Any other suggestions, and any reason that when using SMTP versus PHP Mail that the page is just timing out?

    Hi Phil,

I’m not too sure on that question. You might want to get in touch with your host to see if there are any limitations on your server perhaps? SMTP and PHP Mail are two very different beasts and there might be something there which is causing this.

If that doesn’t reveal anything then I will ask internally on this one to see what others think.

    Does that help?

    Thanks,

    Mark
