    Hi,

I know you have the ‘Channel Assignment Preference’ where you can choose if a member group can post and edit within certain
    channels.

Is there any way to restrict a member group to only “edit” entries but not “publish”.

I want to block members from “publishing” but give them rights to “edit” within certain channels

    Thanks, Kippi

    Hi, Kippi.

The two privileges are tied together. You might want to see if there is anything over on Devot-ee.com that would help.

Ive checked pretty thoroughly over there and Ive also checked the forums here and it seems that its been brought up a few times.

It would make more sense if these were not tied together.

Often you might have a channel “homepage” which will never have more than one entry so you would like to set it up so a client can edit but most definitely not create a new entry in that channel.

Ive read that this might be achieved using safecracker but it seems a bit long winded for something that, I feel, should be an obvious option to be included in the priviledges (not “edit” and “publish” tied together).

Lets hope this is one for the future.

I’d like to +1 this suggestion. It would be very useful on sites that need to have the content controlled which have a lot of users. Separate publish from edit privileges, if possible, please!! 😊

How about you file that as a Feature Request or see if someone else has, and add your voice to it.
