    Hi,

My client is reporting problems with uploading new images over a certain size from the File Manager.

From my client’s machine, when a file is selected and the ‘Upload File’ button is clicked the page/upload appears to freeze as the loading graphic next to the button continues to spin but nothing else happens. Images don’t get uploaded and no error messages appear. So far, images under 100k work fine but anything over 300k does not, so very similar to this http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/195831/

    Edit: this too: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/196948/

Client’s upload speed is fine, they can upload images to other sites and via ftp.

Tech details are, EE build 2.2.2, both client and myself are running Mac OS 10.6 with latest versions of Safari.

Has anyone else seen this problem or can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Hi James,

Do you have anything set in Content > Files > File Upload Preferences > Edit (Your File Upload Preference) > Maximum File Size (in bytes).

Does the same thing happen to you too on the site or is this just happening for the client?

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

I have no maximum file size, height or width set. I can’t replicate the problem myself, this is just what the client is experiencing and a few other people on the forum it seems.

I’ve also just found out it works fine for the client in Firefox.

Also an update on spec, the client has Mac OS 10.6.4 and Safari 5.0.1 (latest version of Safari for 10.6.4), where as I have Safari 5.1 on Mac OS 10.6.8.

    James,

As you are subscribed to the other thread, you know we are tracking this issue as best we can. It’s very nature is frustrating due to the sheer number of variables that seem to be involved. Some can replicate, others can’t. Any and all information that can help us replicate this will help us track down this bug.

    Cheers,

    Hey James,

In order to keep things manageable and track these issues together, would you mind continuing with us on this thread? http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/196948/

I’ll close this one up to keep it all tidy.
