I am going to be doing a pretty large install of a multiple site setup in the near future.

So settling on a hosting provider is critical.

I am familiar with Engine Hosting of course and they are a contender, though they don’t offer much by way of a control panel.

Looking for a few recommendations for hosting solutions that are EE friendly.

A big plus with EH is that they know EE of course so that can make trouble shooting a lot easier.

    thanks for your input folks.

Have you got any ideas of server specs you need? Price/budget? Any particular country?

Used clients Heart internet hosting on last project with no problems, have also had success with 34sp but had to install FastCGI to get file upload to work so not ideal.

Been thinking about using NuBlue Hosting as they say they use EE themselves: http://www.nublue.co.uk/web-hosting/expressionengine?w3source=43&kw=expression engine hosting

Can only recommend EngineHosting as thats our main hosting provider and hit no problems in the last year

I have been very, very happy with EngineHosting in spite of their limited control panel.  At first, I missed the illusion of control provided by other environments with big, fancy, c-panel interfaces…  But I got over it quickly because EH does exactly what it needs to do and their support is very responsive.

I have started requiring new ExpressionEngine clients to host on EngineHosting because:
    - Their service is excellent
    - Their security practices are excellent (this is HUGE - they are VASTLY better than the other hosting services I use)
    - Off-site backups (including database backups) come with every plan
    - Being in a load balanced environment rocks (seriously)
    - ExpressionEngine always works in the best possible way - no “tuning” required
    - The included email hosting is really pretty excellent

I do have other hosting environments I use for other things, but all of my money sites are on EngineHosting.
