In the EE user guide, it says that I can test a watermark with a test image while creating/edting a watermark.

I do not have a button that says “Test Watermark”, nor do I have a field that asks for the “Server Path to Test Image”. It does not show up with either “text” or “image” selected as the “Watermark Type.”

    Running EE2.2.2.

    Hi John,

That field and that button do not exist for this release. Apologies for confusion. See thread here

    Thanks John.

Another question: Does the watermark not resize to the image it is placed on? I uploaded a fairly large watermark so it fit even the biggest of images, but images that are only medium sized, have a huge watermark over the top of it; no cropping.

Also, does the opacity option work? I selected 35 and it showed up at 100%.

    Hi John,

Watermarking in EE2 doesn’t resize the watermark based on the size of the image to which its being applied. This gives you extra flexibility since you can apply different watermarks to the different image manipulations that are output upon an image upload.

You’re spot on about the watermark opacity. I tested it and wasn’t able to see any noticeable difference between two 35% and 80% opacity. I notified our dev team about it, so they’re now aware of the bug.

Is there anything else I can help with?

    Kevin,

I believe that is everything. Thanks for the updates.
