So I’ve uploaded all files into our wwwroot folder, alongside our existing pages and folders, and the admin.php works fine.  But only when I remove default.html from our “default” documents list and replace with admin.php which effectively kills our current site.

Can I run the admin.php stuff, and proceed forward, then still get the rest of the world back to our default.html, while I work on moving content from our old Front Page folders into Expression Engine?  Or is wwwroot not a good place to start?

Welcome to the ExpressionEngine forums, newportpres.

When it comes to working with your existing site, you can certainly keep your existing default.html file. Are you using any sort of index.php files right now? If you manually type in http://example.com (your current site) what comes up? Is default.html coming up, or is index.php which has EE code in it?

It’s newportpres.org and the default.html is first on the list, thus that’s what you get.  So I go to the admin.php and I’m ready to go, just did not want to destroy things by proceeding…  thanks.
