    Hello,

Here’s what is happening, I’ve been noticing for a few days that my site takes a lot of time to process new entries or updates done in the control panel and for the second time now when and entry is being processed in the CP the progress bar never reaches the end and when I go check I have lost access to the database and the site is blank. Upon contacting my webhost I learnt that the reason for the freeze was that there were too many connections to the database by the same user, they even sent me the log file and on both occasions it showed a different query being repeated several times. I’m sure the code doesn’t have loops or else this problem would have occurred sooner, besides if that were the case the repeated query would always be the same. It seems something is choking the backend of the site, I’ve had more visits over the past days but not enough to justify problems (around 200 per day).Could it be an add-on doing this? Could you please help me diagnose the source of this problem?

I’m running EE 2.1.3. Let me know if you need me to provide any more information.

    Thanks 😊

Heya. What addons are you using on your site? Can you post a complete list?

    Hi Isabel,

Sorry to hear you’re having these problems. A few questions if I may first.

Has the site always done this or has this only just started happening?

If it only just started happening on the site then have you recently installed any new add-ons to the site or done any large data imports of any kind?

Extra visitors to the site shouldn’t be affecting the backend unless these are people actually logging into the backend?

When you said progress bar are you talking about the browser or something in ExpressionEngine?

    Thanks,

    Mark
