I am currently doing a site transfer and am testing the site using an IP address. We updated the host file on our mac to view the site on a clients server, but have been unable to view the secondary domain that is setup on the site manager. I was curious how i could setup my local host file so that i can view the secondary site as well. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there 92 West,

This would be a bit tricky because I don’t think the hosts file will let you point to subdirectories, only IP addresses. How are you MSM sites structured on your server? You may find it easier to edit each MSM site’s admin.php and index.php files to use the IP address vs. trying to use the hosts file.

This discussion is kind of outside the scope of technical support, I’m going to move this into Community Help to keep the discussion going. I’ll keep an eye on the thread and continue to offer suggestions along the way.

    Cheers,
