    Hi.

I’m having some issues with enabling a user to login to the control panel and managing some channel entries.

I’m using EE 2.2.2 with MSM.

Where I’m at right now is that I’ve created a Member Group for one of the sites (called [Site] editor’). I actually enabled everything for this member group - just to make sure this wasn’t the problem.

I added a user to this member group.

Secondly I changed the Admin -> Security and Privacy -> Security and Sessions Preferences and set ‘Require IP Address and User Agent for Login?’ to ‘No’ as hinted in some other posts in the forum.

Now, when trying to login to the control panel with this user I get the message ‘You are not authorized to perform this action’.

I’m not sure where to look, if I need to change other things.

So I need some help 😊

    Hi Dan Storm,

Can you see if adding that particular user to have access to the main site fixes the problem?

Assigning the group the main site allows him to login - but when switching back the login isn’t allowed.

    Hi dan,

Have you got a separate admin.php for your second site or are you still trying to login via your root admin.php?

What version and build of MSM are you using?

    Hi John,

Yes, all sites added to MSM have their own admin.php and index.php

    I’m using MSM version 2.1.0

    Dan,

This may seem like an odd request, but when you attempt to login as this user in the CP, after receiving the error… look in the URL and clear everything to the right starting with “?S” and then hit return. Does that clear up the error?

I’ve come across this a couple of times and it seems to be somewhat of a “hung” session. Clearing the session token form the URL seems to alleviate the issue. Let us know if you have any further questions.

    Cheers,

    Hi Dan,

This actually solved it - logging out after clearing the token and logging in again still works.
    Perfect.

    Thank you.
