    Hello All,

I am wondering if anyone knows a way to track member activity while logged into a site. I have a client that would like to see which members are viewing content and which are not.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
    Danielle

    Hi Danielle,

What kind of logs do you need exactly? Member activity can be seen, like last login. If that’s not enough, you’d probably need to do some customization.

    There is a logger add-on: http://erikreagan.com/blog/logging-actions-in-your-expressionengine-add-ons/

Not sure if this can also be integrated in the FE, but might worth a look.

    Cheers,
    Mike

    Hello Mike,

Thanks so much for your reply. They are looking to track more actions outside of the default. For instance, they’d like to know what links a member is clicking on, and track what pages they are viewing most, etc. They are building a secure file sharing area.

Anything come to mind for a set up like that?

    Thanks!

I don’t know of any add-ond that can do this. I think you would have to do some custom work here.

Doesn’t have to be to difficult, you have the user ID and the page ID they are on, so if you log en entry on every page with the user id you could run some basic statistics.
Don’t know how much traffic of course, but guessing based on the fact they want to track per member I get a feeling it’s quite individual.
