Followed instructions as per the docs. This was the first time I was running update with multiple site manager.

The two sites are as follows…

    http://www.domain.com
http://www.domain.com/temp_2nd_site (this will change after testing to its own domain)

Update was successful. Deleted installer folder and tried to access domain.com which directed me to domain.com/temp_2nd_site. I thought this might be an easy fix by modifying the index.php and admin.php files in the root dir and the /temp_2nd_site folder.

Now I am getting tons of errors while trying to access cp (headers.php error and settings error) I’m sure this can be fixed by properly adjusting the two files in the two locations but kindof stumped.

I have performed a backup before the upgrade so it may be easier to revert to the backup and try update again.

For now I have reverted by system_old and themes_old as well as index_old.php and admin_old.php to current versions and am back running 2.1.3

Everything is back working but I do get this when logging in (note the two messages - most likely because of MSM?)

One or more core files have been altered:
    /space/home/users/username/index.php
    /space/home/users/username/index.php

    firstarsbrnwhite,

I’m sorry you had these issues while trying to update your site. From your outline is sounds as if everything went smoothly until is became time to configure MSM? Those alerts should only appear once, and you can safely dismiss them, since you are the one who made the changes. My recommendation for moving forward is:
    1) Update to ExpressionEngine 2.2.2, by following the version update instructions.
    2) Update to MSM 2.1.0, by following these update instructions.
    3) Then follow the sub-folder and subdomain instructions.

Follow all of these steps very carefully before attempting to access any of your Control Panels. Let us know if you run into any issues.

    Cheers,

Now that I accessed CP and changed around system_old and system folders to revert is it best to revert back to my backup and database backup and do fresh update rather than fixing this update?

Or is this something I can just edit the index.php and admin.php files to correct?

    firstarsbrnwhite,

Oh, dang! I understood that you had already rolled back. Sorry about that! Rolling back to *before* you updated would be step 1. Both ExpressionEngine and your database. Completely getting back to square one, and then going through the steps outlined above. I hope that clarifies this for you.

    Cheers,
