    Hi guys,

I am currently running two EE sites but since morning I have not be able to login to the control panel on FF and Chrome (running on Mac). The front-end site seems to be working fine.

I have tried the following but no luck.
    - Clear my browser’s cache
    - Set $debug = 1 in admin/index.php

At the control panel login, I don’t get any errors or messages.

My hosting is up and running well.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Joe

Do you get an error message, or just nothing happens?

No, no errors or messages at all.

I even tried a wrong username and password.

Very strange, it now allows me to login to the control panel on both sites.

Does EE do any updates on the background?

I don’t think so. Sometimes I get quirky behavior like this, and often just a computer restart can sort it out. I usually try that when something unusual like this happens. It can sound like pretty lame advice if it’s not what’s needed, though.

Thanks. I have only been using EE for about two months so far and very like it, but this type of error worries me.

    Hi Joe,

Sorry you had these problems. I’m glad it’s working for you again now although could I ask you which version of ExpressionEngine you are running?

There was an update to an earlier version of ExpressionEngine which dealt with a couple of these types of problems so if you are on anything lower than 2.2.2 then it would probably be best to update if you are able to just to ensure that you are running the latest version which should then prevent these problems from happening again.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mark,

2 of my sites, both (freelance and commercial) are running v2.2.2 - Build: date 20110801 which I believe it is the latest version.

    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,

Sometimes internet connections can cause this to happen. I’ve had this myself a few times and put it down to that as it never happened again or when it did happen I could see that it was due to my connection.

Would you like me to keep this thread open for a few more days just in case you have any more issues with this one or shall I close it out and if you have any more problems you can always post again.

Let me know what you’d like to do, thanks.

    Mark

Closing due to lack of feedback.

Joe, if you have any more problems or need help with anything else then please do feel free to post again as needed.

    Cheers,

    Mark
