Disagreeing EE versions between staging and dev after upgrade

    I’ve just upgraded EE to 2.2.2 from 2.1.3. Everything seems fine on my dev machine, and it SEEMS the same on my staging machine, but in the footer on the control panel on my staging machine it still says “v2.1.3”.

    The main reason for upgrading was to fix the problem that Firefox had with the control panel menus, and that seems to be working perfectly on both machines - presumably the upgrade was largely succesful. What controls that value in the footer? Have I forgotten to copy something over?

    Method of upgrade:

    1. Copied DB and files from staging to dev
    2. Upgraded on dev
    3. Copied upgraded DB and files to staging
    4. Still see “2.1.3” :/

    Interestingly enough the Build date (also in the footer) on both staging and dev is the same, “20110801”.

    Hi Fritzinger, make sure that the config.php file is writable. You’ll need to go in manually and update the version number. Does that help?

    $config['app_version'] = '222';

    Ok that makes sense because I maintain separate config.php and database.php in the different environments so wouldn’t have copied the files. Is there anything else in these files that I’d need to edit?

    Nope, that’s it!
