I looked into User Guide for how to update my EE with new domain name (while its now using dev domain name).  This EE will stay on the same server…so this page “Moving ExpressionEngine to Another Server” doesn’t apply to this case.

Should I update the config.php and/or General Configuration do that?  I know for sure that I need to update server path for the File Manager.

Does anyone know the step by step instruction on this?

This is a bit of a pain by default, as EE stores your url in so many places, which is why we built reelocate (exp-resso.com/reelocate) - feel free to give that a try!

    counterintuity,

You would need to follow the same process as moving EE to another server, but start at step 7. Dave is right, there are a number of places that paths need to be stored in EE. Lots of users like to use relative paths to ease the burden of this.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

    Cheers
