Hello.

I have 2 channels: Products and Industries, both of them have Title and Page Body.
Let’s say I have product Modular Units and I have 2 industries… Mining and Chemicals
So mining have it’s own content with body text same as product, now I would need in product body text to have Related Industries links that would take user on industry page.. like:
Related Industries: Mining, Chemicals(when user click on link it should take him to Mining page). My question is how to enable in admin area for user to select related industries. I have tried with field type Relationship but that way I can select only one industry, and when I put for example Checkbox field and set Populate the menu from another channel field I can’t select Title from industry Chanele but only custom maid fields, and I would need only title.

Any Idea is appreciated.

You’d be best using the ‘Playa’ addon for this type of relationship. This fieldtype gives you the option to create many-to-many relationships. CHeck it out here - http://pixelandtonic.com/playa

ALternatively, you could use categories to store your industries.

Dave thanks for your help, I’m more for creating one filed type checkbox and to select channel for checkbox value, only problem is when I select checkbox and channel I can’t select to use Title from channel.

Any suggestion how could I use that?

Hmm well it still sounds like you’d be better using either categories or Playa. I do understand what you’re trying to do but looks like its not possible, at least not without an addon

I’ve added one more field for this and then I can use that field as channel checkbox selection…. now when I use checkbox tag {capabilities_industry_related} I get: Mining, Coal which is correct, but I would need to set those 2 as links to specific pages. meaning I would need URL title, is there some way to get this relation even if I dig in code and modify it my self?

Sounds like you’re going about it the wrong way. You need to create relationships if you’re using mining/chemicals as channel entries. This needs Playa.

Option 2 is setting up mining/chemicals as categories. This is cheaper, and you can use custom category fields to design them any way you want
