entry dated in the future does not go live when the entry date and time passes

Entries dated in the future are not showing up after the entry date and time passes. Setting the date back by one day, and then putting it back to the initial date fixes this.

Here are the specific settings of the entry:

    - Date > Entry Date: “2011-08-24 07:30 AM”
    - Options > Status: Open
    - Options > DST Active on Date of Entry, checked

    Here are my localization settings:

    - Server Time Zone: Pacific (confirmed by host)
    - Server Offset: blank
    - Default Time Formatting: US
    - Daylight Saving Time: Yes
    - Honor Daylight Saving Time setting associated with each channel entry: Yes

So for the above example, the entry was not showing at 7:45 AM this morning. I went into the entry and just changed the date to “2011-08-23 07:30 AM”—one day back—and then the entry showed up.

Then I went back into the entry and changed it back to “2011-08-24 07:30 AM”, what it was initially set to, and the entry remained showing.

I am not sure if this is expected behavior, but the part that seems off is the entry would show not show up, and then show up (after setting the date backwards and forwards), with the same entry date in both cases.

Any ideas? Is this possibly a bug that gets fixed in a more current version? This install is 2.1.0, build 20100810.

    Thanks!

I did a quick scan through the Change Log, and there have been several fixes related to DST and Entry Dates, including the removal of the “Honor Daylight Saving Time setting associated with each channel entry” option. That, plus the multitude of other fixes since 2.1 warrants an upgrade if at all feasible. I’m curious what is the result if you wait an extra hour?

    Cheers,

    Thanks, Dan.

I am curious, too… however, I may just try the update first and see if that does the trick. I will let you know what happens.

    Hi, nadea -

In CP Home > Administration > Global Channel Preferences

What do you have set for “Cache Dynamic Channel Queries?”?  You’ll need that set to ‘no’ to use future entries.

    Lisa,

You nailed it. It was set to “yes”. I changed it to “no” and tested, and it did the trick.

Thanks so much for the help.
