I’m using Freeform so candidates can submit CV’s (as files). An email alert is sent to me, which includes the form data aswell as the CV file.

How can I have the CVs deleted as soon as this email is sent to me, so no record is kept? The reason I want this is partly security, partly that the files will never get looked at, and also because currently the file names are being changed when another file of the same name exists.

I posted this question here and it seems Freeform has no inbuilt way to do this:

Is their a standard ExpressionEngine way to do this? Nicolas suggested a cron job or php. Would these methods be standard server stuff that’s nothing to do with EE?
    Thanks

If you have th folder where the attachments are stored set up a an Upload destination one option might be to use the File manager to manually remove them…

    James,

I haven’t explored this but what happens if you leave the parameter send_attachment=“yes” but remove the file_upload= parameter?

Does it send the attachment but not upload it?
    Worth a shot.

Afraid it doesn’t send the attachment, thanks anyway.
